I had long admired Micha’s (itsforgotham) work
on Instagram, so when I encountered his website,
I saw an opportunity to create something that
better reflected his creative vision. His static Wix
site lacked the dynamic, visual flair that matched
his style.
Inspired to take on a meaningful challenge, I quickly
designed and developed a demo before pitching the
idea of a complete overhaul. After Micha approved,
we collaborated in several design sessions to ensure
the new site captured his vision. Once the concept was
finalized, I moved forward with development to bring the
design to life.
One of the key challenges in this project was
integrating videos in a way that balanced
efficiency with performance. Micha frequently
uses Vimeo for his content, so after exploring
various options, I implemented 'Plyr,' a
lightweight and customizable video player, which
offered the perfect balance of performance and
functionality.
For the mobile experience, I focused on
user-friendliness by placing essential actions in the
screen's corners, ensuring they were always within
easy reach.
The site earned an 'Honorable Mention' from the
prestigious Awwwards jury, recognizing its design
innovation and functionality.
